TESTIMONY OF WAR

Momentum is growing for peace negotiations in Afghanistan, as the cost of war becomes unbearable. In the last ten years alone there have been over 70,000 civilian victims killed or injured. Civilians have lost the most during the conflict and have the largest stake in the outcome of the peace process. In words of one of the protagonists who lost his eight-year old sister to a bomb blast in Kabul: “Victims must be able to have their voice heard and advocate in the peace process. To exclude them would render their suffering utterly meaningless.”
